Tinman in topeka, triathalon

WAY TO GO HUNNY!
TODAY JOHN DID AND FINISHED HIS FIRST TRIATHALON! WE WENT TO TOPEKA KANSAS AND PARTICIPATED IN THE TINMAN. JOHN DECIDED 4 WEEKS AGO THAT HE AND BUDDY TOD WANGSGARD WERE GOING TO DO THIS TRI. IT WAS REALLY FUN TO ROOT HIM ALONG THE WAY. HE FINISHED IN 1 HOUR 12 MINUTES. DID A 1100 YARD SWIM, 10 MILE BIKE RIDE, AND RAN A 5K. HE SAYS HE DOESN'T WANT TO DO ANOTHER ONE BUT AFTER SEEING THE PICTURES SAYS HE BETTER SO HE CONTINUES TO LOSE WEIGHT. I THOUGHT HE DID GREAT FOR LITTLE TRAINING, THE SWIM DEFINATELY THRU HIM BECUASE OF THE WAKE AND GETTING KICKED IN THE FACE, OTHER THAN THAT HE HAD A GOOD TIME AND THE KIDS LOVED SEEING HIM COME ACROSS THE FINISH LINES!

NEXT UP THE 4 MILE RUN FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES AT THE KANSAS CITY ZOO.... FOR JENN!!!!

Dallan's 11

Dallan had a fantastic month in may! He had his 11th birthday and we celebrated with a campout-cookout-airsoft gun war. Easiest birthday party I have ever thrown. The boys set up the tent, made the fire, played war for 5 hours. Dallan didn't want a cake, he wanted s'mores! so he lit a mashmallow on fire while we sang to him and then blew it out. he had 8 guests, all boys from church. 5 of which are fellow webloes in grandma's troop. such a great group of boys. in the morning we did the pancake thing and I have never had so many compliments on my pancakes. I have to give credit to the church for that one though because it is their pancake mix from the cannery. If you haven't tried it I suggest you do!! yummy.
dallan also earned his Arrow of Light award this may. All of the boys in the troop turned 11 in may! so Grandma really worked hard and got all 5 the finishing award of cub scouts done in May.
we are proud of Dal. he went on his first overnighter as an 11 year old this week and did well. hiked in a mile and didn't freak out when it rained in them.

end of school- summer is here!

The kids graduated for the DARE program this year in May. Remi wrote an essay that was read at the ceremony. Dallan made the Honor roll carrying a B average all year. we are very proud of him. He is playing the Cello this summer in the orchestra camp and doing very well. I think it the perfect instrament for dal. Remi made the principals honor roll this year carrying straight A's all year. she also made the Presdients list for scoring 87% on the state tests. she got 100.00 savings bond from pres. Obama for accomplishing this.
They both did very wll this year and are way excited for middle school next year. Heaven help us we will have 2 in high school, 2 in middle school and 1 in elementary. Easton will go to the high school next year and be in their child development program. sami is enrolled in this class so it should be fun.

Peter Pan was this years spring recital for the girls. Remi played an indian with tiger lilly, and a star constellation. you see this is why I love ballet, they have dances for the characters as well as the background! she made a beautiful ballerina star and indian and we were very proud. madi was a doll and also did a class presentation of her level 1 class. Both girls are taking summer ballet and have graduated to another level. Remi will be evaluated after summer to be a part of the Company Dancers for the nutcraker this year... very exciting!
speaking of Remi.... she was the lead role in our stake musical "Claire, a pioneer girl". she was amazing!! her voice was clear as a bell, on pitch and her acting was amazing. I am so excited to see what she does next. Sami and grandma was in the play as well so it was a fun time for the three of them to do together.
madi is back riding horses this summer as well. she has been thrown over the shoulder of Louie the horse(very tall) and fell off riding bareback so far this summer. she says she only needs to fall 5 more times and she is am officail cowgirl.
we love her attitude!!

16th anniversary

Oh my! It has been 2 months since my last post!!! where does the time go? I will tell you where.... all over the place!
This will be lenghthy folks so hold on tight!
Well after . we got JJ John and I flew to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl for you 16th wedding anniversary. we had such a great time. we went to 4 different beaches, went on a 2 day cruise to Nassau Bahamas,snorkled, went on a everglades trip hunting for alligators, stayed beach side and loved every minute!! Thanks MOM for the trip it was wonderful!!!
